After the recent installment of the NBA Finals in which the star was a man that never went to college and lets all face it, has gained quite a bit of popularity not through his athletic ability so much as his legal troubles. Kobe Bryant is not a team athlete. He is a great athlete nonetheless. I wanna know what happened to the respectability of professional athletes. When did they make the cross over from role models to drugged out hooligans with no regard for the law?
We live in an age where they are getting shot up in drivebys and turning up dead in roach motels and murdering men for ratting on them. Then we have people like Pacman Jones who are just trash and break any possible law or code of conduct they can. Jamaal Lewis is off dealing cocaine from a prison cell while we are all out having to pay by the C note to see him play. Charles Barkley made a good point when he spoke of how children should be looking up to teachers and policemen and not him. That's legit. I do not think anybody should look up to Charles Barkley at all, but the issue with this is would you still see it the same when you were taking a massive pay cut because those children did not look up to you? Its obvious that without those kids there is no way possible that they make the money that they do.
Now I also wanna approach the fact that I blame professional athletes for a lot of gang activity. Many of them come from hard neighborhoods. I recognize that that is a major strain upon a person. I will cite such individuals as Troy Vincent to prove that a bad neighborhood is no excuse for inappropriate behavior. I believe that the problem all starts back at dribbling. Dribbling took basketball from a team of 5 players going up against another team to a scorer with 4 defensemen going up against the same. The flash of the bling became the precedent. They were looked up to by all of these inner city children. Well then those scorers decided they were above the rest of the world because they were the most valued player. There was no pressure to act respectable. They just stuck with what they knew, being thugs. All those kids looking up to them set that as their standard.
There are exceptions to these behaviors. Deion Sanders came into the NFL and the MLB as a thug and grew into a great role model. He is no doubt flashy but he is definitely a well spoken stand up citizen. There are several more such as Peyton Manning or Tony Gonzalez.
The standard used to be that those punks would be ran off and the stand up players would be kept. These sports teams have decided it is more important to win games than stay true to their morals.

High Maintenance Spud
While I was eating lunch in McAlister's Deli today I realized something as the man brought us our food. What is with restaurants offering meals that are not intended for a single person. It is just ridiculous. I had a discussion with the cashier about how they offered a meal that was intended for four that that sort of practice is just silly. What if I wanted just one muffeletta? I am not exactly sure what that is to this day other than its some sort of yuppy like bread. Kinda urged me away from it with its confusing orderings in fractions. So I settled for the easier choice and just got the big nasty.
But lets get to the real issue here. If I hear one more yuppy talk about my sandals I am going to go nuts and kill them. Yes I do wear sandals. They allow your feet to breathe excellently. And yes I wore them to the book sale on saturday. I had been wearing shoes that were soaking wet all day and the socks had begun to chaff my feet. I do not care what you think about them. I do not try to impress you. I have style and I look good in anything. I can work a burlap sack if I wanted to.

True Love
Dear Love,
What we had was one of a kind. There has never been such a great love/hate relationship in existence before. I mean sure things have been bad at times but the good times were great. I can only hope to one day find another half as great as you. I mean I am sure there will be others and I will likely care more for them than I did you but it does not diminish what we had. I mean sure in the whole affair I have been with several others as you have been with many more but it was always the one that I truly valued. Some of them were solely based on your existence for me as well as the others. I would not take back any of them. You have always spurred me to great things that I could never have done without you. Sure there are lots of people who think poorly of you. Actually there are many that do but I can see whats on the inside of your shell. I know the way you work and I play your game well. It was one of my favorites for sure. But in the end it ended. The game turned out to be a loss. We had a good run. It was exciting for sure. Through the good and the bad I will not forget you. You have many others and should not make our relationship your only. I would never be able to satisfy you. This does not make me happy but through it all I love you Keystone Light.

The Modern Civil Rights
Since the dawn of time there has been some sort of ruling party trying to take from the masses as much as they can possibly get away with. There have been pharoahs, emperors, kings, czars, and even presidents. On the other side there has always been the masses screaming for their fair treatment. There were revolutions and revolts in all regions of the world. Then there have been individuals without power who scream for their consideration in this ideological fair treatment. These guys weren't really alone and individual in their struggle. Earl Gideon represented all the indigents. Martin Luther King Jr. represented the blacks. This type of struggle in which there is a man willing to be a martyr in order to preserve the rights of the minority from being squashed by the majority.
I am of course talking about my love of peanut chicken. I have been ripped from this delicious dish, not commonly found in chinese restaurants, for the majority's liking of sushi. Upon their insistance that round 2 is sushi round and the constant threats of bodily harm I gave in and departed from the company of peanut chicken. I know I am not alone in being persecuted as such. I have a secret following that keeps their chinese food preferences in hiding. At what point will the minority's right to its love stop being stomped upon by the majority's preference of sushi? I call to all of the fans of peanut chicken to resist against those that persecute you. Do not let them shape your consumption of foods from the Orient. We shall rise up and throw off their chains. We shall one day walk in a land where peanut chicken is provided for the masses! YES WE SHALL!!!!
